Mesquita | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract : The present paper aims to analyze Rio Grande do Norte's wind farms' bidding process. To achieve that, the criteria covered: processing time, monetary costs and complexity. A survey was made, in order to collect data from a close environmental consultant. Semi structured interviews with IDEMA's wind farms licensing sub coordinator were also arranged. By the way, IDEMA's website was also information source to the paper's target was met. As a result, it is possible to state that the bidding process's most complex stage is the installation license. It could be concluded that environmental studies are the biggest impact factor in the bidding process, as well as the fact that The Preliminary License can be decisive for the continuity of the licensing process. Finally, it was seen that the lack of national process standards is the source of a series of barriers faced by the entrepreneur. |
| PERCEPTION OF FARMERS CAJAZEIRAS IN PARAÍBA, ON THE USE OF RAINWATER FOR POTABLE PURPOSES | Author : J. D. de S. Barros; S. C. Torquato; D. C. F. de Azevedo1; F. G. de A. Batista | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract : The lack of quality water for human supply, the Brazilian semiarid, helps to reduce the quality of life of this population, thus hindering his own fixation on the field. In this sense, the construction of cisterns in rural communities is a viable solution for the coexistence of these populations with Semiarid by contributing to the permanence of families in rural areas for the provision of potable water for human consumption. In this sense, the present work aims to diagnose the socioeconomic profile of farmers settled the city of Cajazeiras, as well as evaluating the perception of farmers regarding the use of captured rainwater in cisterns. That research was carried out from April 25 to May 13, 2011, containing a sample of 20 families. A questionnaire was developed socio-environment semi-structured and implemented in the form of interviews on visits made in the settlements, followed by direct observations of local conditions all directed to focus the work. The methodology consisted of primary data collected through semi-structured interviews to fill out forms with questions about arguiam farmers aspects: agricultural production, age, education, family income and settlement infrastructure. The agricultural village Canudos home to 40 families, and of these, sixteen papaya produce a collective area of 12 hectares. All work is performed by family members, distributed among men and women and, in some cases, for young people who divide the day between school and work. Regarding family income, 65% of families had average incomes ranging from one to three minimum wages, with 61.5% of those producers of papaya and 38.5% non-producers. It was also observed that the producers had no lower family income. As for infrastructure, agricultural village Canudos presents precariousness in attendance to education, health, transportation and garbage collection. It is concluded, therefore, that the farmers producers have an economic situation to a certain extent, because of favorable manufacturing papaya irrigated, when compared with non-producers. |
| FROM UTOPIA TO PRINCIPLES OF SOLIDARITY ECONOMY: INTERFACES BETWEEN THE PAST AND THE PRESENT | Author : L. C. S. ROCHA¹; G. E. F. ARAÚJO; E. A. PELOGIO; J. A. PAIVA; M. E. M. AÑEZ | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract : From a bibliographic research, this text shows, theoretically, by phenomenological and ontological ways, how the main ideas of Fourier’s Utopian Socialism are present in principles of Solidarity Economy. The contemporary society’s socioeconomic situation, based in consumerism and competitiveness, has created constraints, both for the capitalist economy and for most individuals. It is in times of crisis that Solidarity Economy appears as answer to inequalities and injustices inherent to capitalist system, focusing beyond the economy dimension, the social and environmental spheres. This not fragmented trend of life was thought in the past and is occurring – though in a limited way – nowadays. To show this understanding, throughout the work are recovered features of Fourier’s thought that, today, appear strongly linked to the construct of Solidarity Economy. The realized exercise shows the vitality of the utopian socialism’ ideals in the present. |

| NEW PERSPECTIVES TO THE YOUTH AND ADULT EDUCATION: AN ANDRAGOGICAL STUDY IN THE TECHNICAL COURSE OF FISHERY RESOURCES | Author : L. do N. Mendes; P. C. M. Chagas | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract : The technical courses of Instituto Federal de Educação, Ciência e Tecnologia do Rio Grande do Norte-IFRN are distributed in the modalities of integrated, subsequent and youth and adult education (YAE) courses, the last for the insertion of people who are far from school for many years and present some difficulties in the learning process. The present study has shown a report of experiences with young and adult people, under the perspective of approaching a situation which involves students in life cycles, and age times similar to the subjects of YAE classification, for these ones present a delay in the answers to the teaching in the classroom. Our goal here is to analyze the andragogical practice, in other words, the art of education targeted to adults, specifically related to the students of the technical course of Fishery resources. Through the application of a questionnaire, some results were obtained that could explain in a better way the reasons for that difficulty in the learning process. It shows us the need of thinking of teaching practices based on andragogy. |
| LIFE IN THE TRASH: A CASE STUDY ON RECYCLABLE MATERIALS IN IPAMERI, GO | Author : C. V. Gonçalves; G. Malafaia; A. L. S. Castro; B. G. A. Veiga | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract : Garbage disposal is still a major social-environmental problem in Brazil. Waste Disposal Units are the working conditions of a ever increasing and not controlled, not even recognized, portion of the population. The recyclable material collectors are today the object of numerous public policies for social inclusion, but that does not have the proper reach, especially in small towns. This study aimed to identify the profile and working conditions of Waste Disposal Units gatherers in the city of Ipameri (GO), revealing that the situation is not different of that found in other Brazilian cities. The recognition of the problem by the public authority might be delayed when compared to large cities where the problem is more apparent. |
| SYNCHRONIZING TRAFFIC LIGHTS: MATHEMATICAL MODEL FOR AN APPLICATION TO TRAFFIC CURITIBA | Author : S. Joner; N. M. P. Volpi | Abstract | Full Text | Abstract : Due to the city growth and consequently to the increasing number of the traffic signals, a scientific approach is necessary to establish the synchronization among them. Synchronization means the relative phase of signals of a region such that, the fraction of the green and red time of a cycle are such that, a driver has uninterrupted flow traffic throughout a main arterial. The portion of the cycle for which this is possible is called bandwidth. The main goal of this work is to develop a computational mathematical model to synchronize traffic signals so that the bandwidth can be as big as possible throughout the most important avenues. Such model is being developed specifically to Curitiba traffic network. Such approach implies in saving money and time, improving the quality of life and making the streets safer. This model is based on the works of (LITTLE,1966) and (GARTNER,1981), about mixed integer linear programming and contains restrictions of cycles, speed, changing speed among signals, protecting left-turn movements and considering the time to wait at the signals platoons. Some tests are being done at sub areas in Curitiba. |
